Idaho National Laboratory is hiring for 2 Nuclear Safety Analysts to work in our Nuclear Safety department. These positions will work onsite, 4x10 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls and MFC with every Friday off.
Responsibilities Include
The Nuclear Safety Analyst supports completion of nuclear facility document safety analyses (DSAs) and technical safety requirements (TSRs) updates, revisions, or creation to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B.
Establishes a rapport and interfaces with support organizations and ensures DSA and TSR projects are completed and submitted to the Department of Energy (DOE) for approval.
Identifies DSA commitments and derives TSRs to ensure hazardous and radioactive material releases are prevented or mitigated.
Supports nuclear facility operation which includes reviews of procedures, operational events, and facility modifications and supports DSA and TSR implementation.
Executes unreviewed safety question (USQ) process for proposed facility and procedure changes and new information and develops interim operating restriction, develops and executes USQ resolution plans.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Health Physics, Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or relevant field and 0-2+ years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree and 1 years of experience.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Must obtain and maintain proficiency in the use of analytical tools.
Preferred: A broad range of analytical methods used in developing safety analyses and risk assessments and knowledge of Department of Energy or of Nuclear Regulatory Commission nuclear safety and unreviewed safety question guides and standards

TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
