ESPN’s College GameDay is the premier pregame show in college football and you know it is going to be a big game when they come to town.

The show will look quite different in 2024 as Nick Saban joins the iconic show alongside Lee Corse, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, and the rest of the crew. They will have several quality options to choose from this season as there are several exciting matchups this year as conference realignment kicks in.

While they tend to favor going to teams atop the rankings, they have made a habit of visiting some unique locations over the past couple of seasons and they could do so once again this year. Here are predictions for where College GameDay will spend each week of the 2024 college football season.

Week 0 (Aug. 24): Florida State vs. Georgia Tech

Week 0 has a light schedule this season with just four games involving FBS teams and this matchup was by far the biggest of the bunch. It will be interesting to see how FSU fans interact with the ESPN show and Kirk Herbstreit.

Week 1 (Aug. 31): Notre Dame at Texas A&M

This week is full of interesting options as GameDay could have heard to Atlanta for Clemson vs. Georgia or to Gainesville for Miami vs. Florida. Notre Dame and has two of the biggest fanbases in the sport and it should be interesting to see how the Irish handle what should be a packed and fired-up Kyle Fieldhouse in Mike Elko’s debut.

Week 2 (Sept. 7): Texas at Michigan

This is arguably the easiest pick of the season with two premier brands meeting up and two of last year’s final four teams. Michigan is looking to defend its national title with a new coach while Texas is looking to show that they are once again a title contender.

Week 3 (Sept. 14): Alabama at Wisconsin

Can Luke Fickell pick up a statement win in his second season at Wisconsin? This a great chance for him to stun Alabama as they start the Kalen DeBoer era. This is another clash of two iconic programs and should provide an early look at where they stand.

Week 4 (Sept. 21): Tennessee at Oklahoma

This is another busy week and while USC-Michigan should be great, I’m skeptical that GameDay would go there twice in three weeks. Utah-Oregon State is also an exciting matchup but Oklahoma’s first SEC game against Tennessee and their former quarterback Josh Heupel is too good of a matchup to pass up.

Week 5 (Sept. 28): Georgia at Alabama

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Saban and College GameDay’s return to Tuscaloosa will be must-watch TV and there is not a better time than when they host Georgia in a rematch of last year’s SEC Championship Game. This will be Kalen DeBoer’s SEC debut and he could be in a rude welcome by Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

Week 6 (Oct. 5): Clemson at Florida State

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

This game could very well determine the ACC as FSU and Clemson are two of the top contenders. Clemson is looking for payback after last year’s loss at home while Mike Norvell and Florida State are looking to show they are the top program in the conference.

Week 7 (Oct. 12): Ohio State at Oregon

Craig Strobeck-USA TODAY Sports

Oregon and Ohio State are entering the season as two of the top national title contenders in the country and this game will have major implications in the Big Ten title race. Both of these teams have struggled to win the big game over the past couple of seasons and will be looking to show that this year is different.

Week 8 (Oct. 19): Georgia at Texas

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Both programs will be making their second appearance but this is arguably the two best teams in the SEC and two of the top five teams in the country. Texas is looking to prove it belongs in the SEC and there is no better way than knocking off the Bulldogs, who have become the conference’s best program.

Week 9 (Oct. 26): Kansas at Kansas State

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

It is time to head to Big 12 country and see what should be a very fun and entertaining rivalry game. Oklahoma-Ole Miss is another possible matchup but College GameDay has already seen plenty of SEC schools in this hypothetical scenario and has yet to feature a Big 12 program.

Week 10 (Nov. 2): Ohio State at Penn State

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Is this the year that Penn State is a legit national title contender? They have yet to become a true contender under James Franklin despite racking up the wins and this will be a great chance for them to prove they are for real. This will be Ohio State’s second appearance on GameDay.

Week 11 (Nov. 9): Florida State at Notre Dame

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Both of these programs are entering the season with playoff aspirations and they could both enter this game unbeaten. This would be FSU’s third appearance and Notre Dame’s second and other possible locations are Alabama at LSU and Georgia at Ole Miss

Week 12 (Nov. 16): Utah at Colorado

Predicting where College GameDay will be each week for the 2024 college football season (14)

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

This week is a tough one, Tennessee-Georgia will face off but that would be Georgia’s third appearance and that feels excessive. If Colorado can back up the hype with some wins then this would be an exciting matchup as Utah is looking to make the expanded College Football Playoff with an experienced roster.

Week 13 (Nov. 23): Western Kentucky at Liberty

Predicting where College GameDay will be each week for the 2024 college football season (15)

Brian Bishop-USA TODAY Sports

This was the toughest week to predict as several of the big matchups include teams that have already appeared on GameDay in this scenario. One matchup to watch is Ole Miss at Florida, the Gators have a brutal schedule but if they can win some games then that could be a fun option.

However, this could be a chance to see a Group of Five team, and with Liberty looking like a potential playoff team, that is where GameDay is going.

Week 14 (Nov. 30): Texas at Texas A&M

Predicting where College GameDay will be each week for the 2024 college football season (16)

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Yes, rivalry week has plenty of great options but is there another option than the return of Texas-Texas A&M? This should be an insane atmosphere and could have major playoff implications.
