Ask Question?

Even in retirement, former eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman still gives back to the fitness community. In a recent YouTube video, Ronnie Coleman gave his thoughts and critique of The Rock’s ‘Final Boss’ leg day workout.

Ronnie Coleman was a force to be reckoned with in his prime. He combined unparalleled mass with symmetry, which paved the way for his lasting legacy. Coleman went head-to-head with many top contenders during his reign, including the formidableJay Cutler. Their intense rivalry remains one of the most iconic in bodybuilding history.

While Coleman is a titan of bodybuilding, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a powerhouse in the wrestling universe. Just recently, ‘The Rock’ wrapped up a grueling training camp he embarked on when preparing to get back in the ring at WrestleMania 40.

Ronnie Coleman Examines The Rock’s ‘Final Boss’ Leg Day Workout

As The Rock prepared to portray his new character the ‘Final Boss,’ he smashed a hardcore leg day workout. For this training session, Johnson released uncut footage to his fans, which caught the attention of none other than bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman.

Having previously taken a look at The Rock’s natty or not status, Ronnie Coleman took a magnifying glass to Johnson’s workout, examining his form, technique, and intensity.

“I see my boy DJ was out in Dallas at the Cowboys Training Center getting a good ole’ workout in. Y’all know I got to react to it, so let’s get into it. Yeah buddy!”

Ronnie Coleman commented on Johnson’s mass as he began the workout with 20 reps of the iso-lateral leg press.

“Alright DJ, what you got going on man? My boy DJ looking big. Looking huge. 20 easy reps, just getting warmed up. Yeah buddy!”

By The Rock’s third exercise, belt squats, Coleman jokes about him still warming up.

“Lightweight baby. Warming it up. Take your time. Oh yeah, there you go. Let’s go, let’s get it. Let’s go DJ, let’s go” Coleman said.

“Let’s go, the ‘Final Boss’ is in the house. Let’s go Dj. Let’s show them how it’s supposed to be done baby!”

When The Rock begins his walking lunges, Ronnie Coleman shares a few of his thoughts regarding Johnson’s form.

“I don’t know about this one DJ. I don’t know. I don’t know about them lunges with the dumbbell but at least you are doing something.

Yeah buddy! I think I need to show you the Big Ron way of doing the walking lunges with the weight on your back, getting them hams, quads, and glutes swoll. We’ll let you get away with it since you the ‘Final Boss’ though.”

Finally, as The Rock wraps up his second set, Coleman suggests the next time Johnson is in Texas the two of them get together to do a leg day workout.

“Next time you in Texas DJ let’s get together. Let’s get one going buddy. Let’s get one going! Show you how to do them lunges Big Ron style. Like I said, we’ll let you get away with that since you the ‘Final Boss.'”

After finishing the video of The Rock’s leg day workout, Ronnie Coleman adds in a few more critiques.

“That is kind of a weak way to do them lunges though. I don’t know what that was. We need to change that one up. Alright DJ, I see you doing that workout over there in Dallas, next time you’re in the Dallas area why don’t you hit your boy Big Ron up and let’s get together and let’s something. Yeah buddy!”

The Rock is switching things up following his return to wrestling. After WrestleMania 40, Johnson revealed that he would immediately begin a training camp for his new movie role. The Rock is set to portray the MMA legend Mark Kerr in the movie ‘The Smashing Machine.’ Just recently, The Rock showed off his incredible transformation in an Instagram post and appeared nearly unrecognizable.

The Rock’s athletic abilities are on constant display, even at age 52. As a bodybuilding great with a firm understanding of intense training, Coleman was impressed by The Rock’s willingness to push the pace inside the gym.
