KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) --The Transparent Watercolor Society of America is preparing for its 48th Annual Exhibition at the Kenosha Public Museum on Saturday, May 4.

The display will be located in the Touhey and Ruble Galleries and feature 80 paintings by artists from across North America showcasing the art of transparent watercolor.

Transparent watercolor involves the use of pigments without white pigment, allowing for pure color permeation on the canvas. The exhibition will run until Aug. 4, marking the 12th consecutive year it has been hosted at this venue.

Curator Rachel Klees Andersen of Kenosha Public Museums alongside Sheryl Fletcher Coon, Exhibition Chair, joined us on Tuesday, April 23 to discuss the importance of continuing this tradition, to help highlight the unique artistic technique.

Admission to the museum, located at 5500 1st Ave., is free. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
